Disability Free December – the second!

Last year, I came up with a concept – Disability Free December.  After a year of diagnosis, and therapy, and medical professionals, and research – I had had enough!  I wanted time off from “being disabled and sick”.  So I decided to have a break.  One month of no appointments that were disability or illness related.  One month of no research or advocacy.  One month – free!

It worked so well that I am doing it again this year.  I have no appointments lined up for December.  Not for me, or either of the boys (other than Quinn, who will do a couple of Occupational Therapy sessions to end the school term).  Obviously if one of us gets sick, then I’ll do what I have to do, but as a general rule – no appointments.  I will concentrate on Christmas and family.  I’ll do some scrapbooking and writing.  I may end up doing research or advocacy, but ONLY if it pleases me to do so at the time, instead of from some form of feeling that I “should”.

I love this time of year that is about to descend upon us 🙂

Autism Aspergers Magazine

Linda was a contributor for Autism Aspergers Network Magazine!

We are raising money to cover the boys medical and disability expenses. ALL funds raised go into their own account, to pay for these expenses. Things such as speech therapy, occuptational therapy, psychology, chaperoned sport and social activities, and special equipment etc. I hate having to do this, but hey, if you don't like it, then give me a job ;-). Please click on the photo to go to their GoFundMe page, and thank you for your time (and I do hope, your generous donation *cheeky grin*)!!!
